Toll Like Receptor Signaling

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) play an essential role in the innate immune system and antigen-specific acquired immunity. They recognize specific molecular patterns that are present on microbes. TLRs also activate the transcription factors NF-κB and IRFs, which can result in the activation of innate immune responses.
