The T cell receptor (TCR) is a protein structure found on the surface of T cells. It is a transmembrane heterodimer made up of either an alpha and beta chain or delta and gamma chain. Within these chains are complementary determining regions (CDRs) that determine the antigen the TCR will bind to. Once bound, TCRs activate the T cells, which leads to various to immune responses.
