Hypoxia

This pathway is activated when the body or cells have limited oxygen. The pathway is mediated by hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF). Under hypoxic conditions, HIF is stabilized and translocated into the nucleus. Once in the nucleus HIF binds to HIF1B, which increases the transcription of HIF target genes.
