Inflammasome

Inflammasomes part of the innate immune system. They are receptors and sensors that induce inflammation in response to infectious microbes by regulating the activation of caspase 1. When activated inflammasomes secrete cytokines, including interleukin 1ß and 18, and induce pyroptosis.
