Signaling Pathways

Pyroptosis

Pyroptosis is a form of cell death that is triggered by proinflammatory signals. In pyroptosis the cell nucleus remains intact and gasdermin pores form on the plasma membrane, which results in an influx of water and eventual cell lysis. Pyroptosis is receiving a lot of attention because of its involvement with innate immunity and its ability to affect the development of tumors.
