Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common and often painful condition affecting women of reproductive age. It occurs when endometrial-like tissue, which normally lines the uterus, grows outside the uterus in areas such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic cavity. This condition can lead to a variety of symptoms, including pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, and infertility. The exact cause of endometriosis remains unclear, but it is believed to be influenced by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors.

GemPharmatech has developed an endometriosis mouse model based on surgical transplantation of endometrium tissues which recapitulates the major pathology of the human condition.
