Multiple Sclerosis Models

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease. With these conditions, immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells. In people with MS, the immune system attacks cells in the myelin, the protective sheath that surrounds nerves in the brain and spinal cord.

Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is the most commonly used disease model for MS, a model which is mainly mediated by specifically sensitized CD4+ T cells. GemPharmatech has successfully developed an EAE model, which can be used to evaluate the nonclinical efficacy of MS therapies.
