It particularly targets the salivary and lacrimal glands, resulting in dry mouth (xerostomia) and dry eyes (xerophthalmia). Sjögren's syndrome can also involve other organs and systems, causing various symptoms such as joint pain, fatigue, and difficulties in swallowing.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the respiratory system that can affect individuals of all ages. Characterized by airway inflammation and smooth muscle constriction, asthma leads to breathing difficulties due to the narrowing of bronchial passages. Common symptoms include persistent dry cough (especially at night), dyspnea, chest tightness or pain, and the audible wheezing sound resulting from restricted airflow.
